Sanibel Island has breathtaking white sand beaches and clear blue water and an abundance of colorful shells - "treasures from the sea."
So that our beaches are kept pristine we have a few rules:
- Pets on Sanibel Island must be leashed, and should be cleaned up after.
- Captiva beaches do not allow pets.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited November through May.
- No open fires
- No collecting of live shells please.
- Basic restrooms are located at all public beach accesses. Some have picnic tables and showers, all have free handicap parking.
- Parking at Sanibel Island costs $5.00 an hour, Cash and credit cards are accepted. Paid parking tickets are not interchangeable between Sanibel and Captiva.
Lighthouse Beach and Fishing Pier
Turn left on Periwinkle way from Causeway Road. End of road to lighthouse Fishing pier and a boardwalk nature trail winding thru native wetlands.
Gulf side City Park
Mid-island on Algiers Lane of Casa Ybel Road. Picnic tables, shade.
Tarpon Bay Beach
Mid-island. Located at south end of Tarpon Bay Road at West Gulf Drive. Parking for recreational vehicles, beach is a short hike from parking lot.
Sanibel Island Beaches Bowman's Beach
Quiet, secluded white sand beach. Outdoor shower and barbeque grills. Location off Sanibel-Captiva Road, left on Bowman's Beach Rd.
Blind Pass Beach
Very limited parking, no bathrooms. Last beach before Captiva.
